- Abstract
- A short structured written summary of research submitted for review and, if accepted, presented as a poster or oral talk.
- Accreditation
- The quality-assurance process by which a recognized body authorizes an organization to provide CME and certify credit.
- AMA PRA Category 1 Credit
- The most widely recognized unit of formal, accredited CME for U.S. physicians, designated by accredited providers.
- CME
- Continuing medical education — the accredited, lifelong learning clinicians complete after formal training to stay current.
- Maintenance of Certification
- A specialty board's ongoing program of learning and assessment that keeps a physician's certification current after the initial exam.
- Plenary session
- A conference session for the entire assembly, with no competing sessions scheduled against it.
